The Bach Society of Dayton believes in the power of music to lift the human spirit and inspire future generations of choral singers.

We were founded out of a deep appreciation for the music of J.S. Bach, and his music remains an important part of our identity and our repertoire. But we believe that honoring Bach’s legacy also means embracing the rich choral tradition that grew from his time and continues to flourish today.

Our mission is to culturally enrich audiences through inspiring performances, education, and community engagement with the transformative power of choral music. That includes the masterworks of Bach, but also music from other great composers, contemporary works, new compositions, and music that reflects the diverse experiences and traditions of our audiences.

We see Bach not as a boundary that limits what we sing, but as a foundation that inspires what we do. By presenting a broad and thoughtfully selected repertoire, we can honor our heritage while keeping choral music vibrant, relevant, and accessible to new generations of listeners.
