Celebrate! To observe an event with festivity and rejoicing.
That’s exactly what we’re doing in the Bach Society’s 2012-2013
season, our tenth anniversary! Nearly ten years ago, after the
former Dayton Bach Society was disbanded, 28 singers wanted
to continue singing. Our group is now 60 strong, and along the way
we’ve sung eight centuries of music, with works from the fantasy
of Wind in the Willows to the giants of the choral repertoire –
except for one, and you’ll experience that in this season.

The festivities start in October, with magnificent works for voice and brass. In December, we continue our tradition of festive holiday favorites. In March, for the first time, the Bach Society of Dayton performs J. S. Bach’s monumental St. Matthew Passion, arguably the most magnificent work in the western canon of choral music. We wrap it up in May as former Bach Society singers join us for a tribute to Bach and other great choral composers.

Come join the celebration! It’s a special year, full of special music and people, including you. With your attendance and your contributions, you made the last ten years possible, and we invite you to join with us for the next ten!
